APPROACH TO MEDICINE
Dr. Ashori believes in a traditional family medicine approach of disease prevention and evidence based medicine. His favorite sub-specialties are dermatology, sports medicine, orthopedics and acute injury management. He stays up to date by regularly working with residents, medical students as well as researching new guidelines in medicine.
He believes that prevention should always be the cornerstone of medicine. Using experience and technology to make the correct diagnosis is the first step; managing the disease by lifestyle and nutrition modifications takes precedence. There is always the right time and place for prescribing medications and performing surgical interventions but they need to be weighed carefully to preserve optimum health.
Though the science of medicine is broad there is a fine art to it as well. Dr. Ashori believes that a positive attitude, an open-minded approach with a light touch is the best way to manage illness and health in his patient population.
PERSONAL LIFESTYLE
His personal lifestyle consists of a vegan diet, regular exercise on his bicycle commuting to work, rock climbing, racquetball and yoga. He believes in mindful living through meditation and humor.
